Full Time Job
The mission of the Product Growth team is to drive measurable increases in user behaviors that have a long-term benefit to ESPN: ESPN and Fantasy App downloads, new registrations, participation in fantasy games, adoption of alerts, Insider sign-ups, newsletter and calendar subscriptions. The Product Growth Manager oversees the day-to-day operations and the strategy around a variety of Growth levers. The manager will identify gaps in our current Growth toolkit and develop new Growth tools. In this pursuit, they will build and manage healthy, productive relationships with members of different groups across ESPN, including Audience Development, TV and digital content, technology, marketing, sales and other members of product. Ultimately, the manager position requires boundless energy, enthusiasm and curiosity, as persistent experimentation and iteration will be needed to succeed.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the strategy and day-to-day operation of in-app messaging, navigation, non-editorial modules and smart deeplinking.
• Communicate regularly the effectiveness of specific Growth campaigns, as well as plans for future campaigns.
• Actively participate in sports calendar planning and idea generation to promote Growth around top events.
• Identify gaps in the Growth toolkit and spearhead the development and integration of new growth levers.
• Develop ways to better understand our users and activate that information to improve retention.
• Build healthy, productive relationships with members across the organization, including other members of Audience Development, TV and digital content, technology, marketing and sales.
• Be proactive in experimenting while mitigating risk to user experience and the ESPN brand.
• Bring a daily enthusiasm, curiosity and energy to the job.
Basic Qualifications
• Have developed and executed strategies around funnel optimization and subscriber growth.
• High level of comfort with data and analytics tools, as well as complex digital publishing tools.
• Have an analytical mind and familiarity with digital marketing testing frameworks.
• Have strong writing skills, with an ability to write concisely, clearly, and completely to describe complex ideas in the simplest terms.
• Have strong communication and inter-personal skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Be high-energy and capable of multi-tasking and context-switching regularly throughout the day.
• Enjoy collaboration and problem-solving within group projects.
• Demonstrate an ability to work on a diverse scope of projects requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, and sound judgment.
• A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a consumer-oriented media company or software company.
• A minimum 2 years of work experience in Product Management
Preferred Qualifications
• Understanding of digital publishing and content and/or experience working in an e-commerce company.
Required Education
• High School Diploma.
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business or related field; or equivalent experience.
