Responsibilities
Your Role…
FiveThirtyEight, ESPN's data journalism website, is seeking an intern to help with the production of the site's podcast, videos, and other multimedia production for the website. The intern will work on projects across all our verticals: science, culture, sports, economics, politics and more. The intern will largely devote his or her time towards audio efforts as we launch a new show and get a new miniseries off the ground. The intern would help conceive and research topics for the podcast and video interviews; edit and produce; and help package the shows for online and social media distribution. We're looking for someone with basic audio editing skills, some experience in a newsroom or radio station, a keen interest in data-driven journalism, and a willingness to work as part of a small team and take on new tasks as needed.

• Basic audio editing and production skills
• Keen interest in both the production and editorial site of audio and video
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a newsroom or radio station, or otherwise producing a podcast/video series
• Familiarity with the process of uploading and distributing audio/video to iTunes, YouTube, Soundcloud and other mediums
• Audio or video editing proficiency (eg Final Cut, Pro Tools, Hindenberg, etc.)
• Design background or other experience packaging content to look great online and/or in social media
Required Education
• Enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student at an accredited college or university in the semester prior to the internship

Additional Information:
Internship Eligibility:
• Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship. May 2017 graduates are still eligible.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Program Dates: The length of this internship is 10 weeks, and the approximate dates are September 11– November 17, 2017. Interns may work up to 40 hours per week with some flexibility in number of hours and schedule to accommodate classes as needed.
Housing: This internship is located in New York, NY. Participants on this internship must provide their own housing.
Transportation: Must provide own transportation to/from work.
