Director Ii, Production & Multimedia Sponsorship Integration (Msi)
Under the leadership of the Sr VP, this position will oversee strategic linear ad innovation in the Multimedia Sponsorship Integration unit. This includes setting a strategic innovation direction, creating new initiatives with groups across the company, implementation, testing new ideas and working with sales on scaling revenue opportunities. In addition, the Director II will have production oversight of editorial initiatives including, but not limited to, the Fantasy Football Marathon, the launch of a daily fantasy football show, the College Football 150 project and the Tournament Challenge Marathon.
ResponsibilitiesMSI Specific:
• Partners with the Sr VP to define a linear ad innovation vision, using creativity and the working knowledge of Production and Ad Sales to help both achieve their goals simultaneously.
• Directs intradepartmental communication and teamwork in Production to identify additional advertising possibilities and new revenue opportunities by sport, theme or technological innovation.
• Represents Sr. VP in production, sales and programming meetings involving ad innovation
• Elevates complex production-related sponsorship innovation issues to Sr. VP and Executives providing solution-based recommendations
• Leads specific ad innovation meetings, problem solving and negotiating sessions that result in positive outcomes.
• Responsible for insuring that the creative development and production of sales elements is accurate. Identifies gaps in processes and recommends solutions.
• Establishes & maintains relationships with all Production VPs, Sr CPs, CPs and their counterparts in Ad Sales (VPs, Senior Directors, and Account Executives).
• Work reviewed by the Sr VP relative to adherence to Ad Sales and Production concepts, milestones and defined financial outcomes.
Production Specific:
• Leads the day-to-day editorial direction, strategy and development of assigned shows, including but not limited to, Fantasy Marathons (Football & Basketball), a fantasy daily show and the College Football 150 project.
• Partners with Studio Operations, Creative Services, Studio Directing and others to define the creative direction and editorial vision of assigned shows.
• Partners with Sales to create cross-platform sales integration opportunities with a focus on revenue to offset production costs.
• Oversees various production positions depending on the assigned project – both staff and project based – including Producers, Directors, Associate Producers, Associate Directors, Content Associates and Production Assistants.Work reviewed by the SVP & EVP relative to concepts, milestones and financial outcomes.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 8 years in television production and/or business administration.
• Minimum of 4 years in production or project management.
• Possesses a high level of organizational and communication skills; both written and oral.
Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum of 8 years of progressively complex production-related experience.
• Has an in-depth knowledge of Production positions across all included business units.
• Has a strong knowledge of ESPN's programming across all included businesses.
• Proven experience with influencing senior-level decision makers without a direct reporting relationship.
• Possesses an in-depth understanding of the integrity of show content as it relates to the integration of editorial initiatives & sales features.
Required Education
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
