Full Time Job
The ESPN CreativeWorks Creative Director directs the development and production of marketing programs and initiatives for assigned ESPN programming properties to create a distinct brand image, enhance viewership and increase ratings. This position reports directly to the CreativeWorks Senior Creative Director.
Responsibilities
• Directs the creative development and oversees the production for assigned marketing and promotional projects.
• Applies ingenuity, creativity, analytical and organizational skills to identify and evaluate marketing opportunities and to develop aspects of ESPN's brand strategy and marketing initiatives for assigned ESPN properties.
• Works closely and communicates frequently with Brand and Sport Directors and Managers in the development of creative concepts for specific marketing executions for assigned ESPN properties.
• Directs and occasionally writes scripts for advertisements and promotions from staff and freelance writers.
• Supervises and occasionally directs live action shoots.
• Oversees the creative development process for graphics, music and the tone of spots and other marketing executions.
• May solicit, evaluate, hire and manage third-party resources, i.e., agencies; production companies; directors and producers; designers, etc., engaged for concept development and production.
• Solicits, evaluates, hires and manages in-house or third-party writer/ producers.
• Recommends the commitment of financial and other resources to advertising and related marketing initiatives, including developing and tracking budgets for assigned projects.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 8 years of creative and production experience with at least one year of managing and supervising people.
• Advanced knowledge of creative development for advertising and promotional spots and content.
• Advanced knowledge of scripts and writing, graphics and music.
• Current knowledge of available production resources, e.g., writers; producers; directors; music resources; graphics resources.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of sports.
• Advanced appreciation of popular culture, and ability to contribute to an understanding of the tastes of ESPN's viewers.
• Strong understanding of the ESPN brand and the market positioning and strategies of assigned ESPN properties.
Required Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree
