Full Time Job
The Associate Manager, Content Strategy & Scheduling leads in the assembly of the 24/7 ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews program schedules to align with department priorities for audience and revenue growth. The Associate Manager is responsible for the day-to-day studio and live event scheduling of ESPN domestic linear networks, reporting to the Manager, Content Strategy & Scheduling. Takes lead on strategy and scheduling of ESPN Films & Original Content and ESPN2 studio programming. Supports the ESPNU schedule as well and aids in its compilation. Provides cross-department teams with data to support acquisition and schedule planning.
Requires daily communication and collaboration with professional and college sports programming teams, as well as schedule dissemination to every ESPN department. Engages in long-term network planning for ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPNU and ESPN on ABC and provides data-driven reports on network performance. Work closely with other groups around the company such as Research, Asset Management, Ad Sales and Finance to evaluate program performance.
Responsibilities
• Primary scheduler of the ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews networks responsible for maintaining the networks' schedules on a 24/7 basis.
• Oversee the day-to-day scheduling of ESPN2 studio programs and ESPN Original Entertainment.
• Responsible for effective communication of network schedule planning and schedule changes across all departments.
• Aids in strategic vision and ultimate final monthly compilation of ESPNU schedule
• Leads efforts to align programming initiatives designed to increase audience and revenue.
• Work closely with Research, Asset Management, Ad Sales and Finance to evaluate program performance.
• As part of the programming team, contribute new ideas and suggestions guided by ESPN's overall brand strategies, viewer response, and the competitive landscape
• Translate the analysis and evaluation of trends in ratings and behavior into recommended actions and strategies
Basic Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of ESPN's studio and original programming schedule and strategy.
• Strong knowledge of sports television, the sports business & the cable industry.
• 3 years of experience in television programming or related sports field.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of NCS system or other ORACLE-related computer system.
• 4-5 years of experience in television programming or related sports field.
Required Education
• College degree in Communications, Business, Sports Management, or other related field.
