Writer/ Producer is responsible for writing, producing, and editing assigned programs/spots
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Develops concepts, ideas, scripts, pitches, visual treatments, outlines for solid execution of spots.
-Pitches concepts/scripts to supervisors and team leaders
-Coordinates with Graphics department to facilitate graphic concepting
-Makes requisite revisions
-Meets with Promo Planning and determines all promotional aspects for spots (internal promotional goals, time/tags, sponsorships, dot com throws, etc.)
-Makes sure to get all requisition orders associated with project from various outside departments (sales, marketing, affiliate marketing, music/talent, dot com, etc.)
-Plans with Graphics Department on status of delivery of executed idea and/or graphic elements
PRODUCTION
-Devises budgets.
-Seeks counsel of supervisors, team leaders, and Production Department when devising budgets
-Coordinates with Facilities Department and schedules appropriate session time for projects
-Coordinates internally with Graphics Department
-Coordinates with various other departments (sales, marketing, affiliate marketing, music/talent, etc.) to determine needs
-Works within department to outsource any possible aspects of production (graphics, illustrations, animators, composers, designers, etc.)
-Runs audio editing sessions
-Runs video editing sessions
-Finishes spots and distributes duplicates to all applicable partieS
-Reacts to feedback, notes, and direction given by supervisors and team leaders and offers thoughtful solutions and opinions
-Makes revisions and amends budget, as needed, to properly reflect changes in project's overall cost
COMMUNICATION
-Once assigned a project, stays in contact with supervisors and team leaders at regular intervals and milestones during project
-Interacts regularly with other departments (promo planning, programming, music/talent, sales, marketing, affiliate marketing, etc.) to determine promotional needs/concerns/questions
-Mentors junior staff on all aspects of production (writing, producing, pitching, concepting, shooting, audio & video editing, etc.), and display exceptional adherence to professional code of ethics
SKILL REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
-3+ years experience in writing/producing on-air promotions/advertising campaigns and presentations from a television network or advertising industry.
-Must possess strong conceptual, writing and visual skills.
-Experience creating and executing innovative, high-concept television promotions.
-Must have a working knowledge of television pre- and post-production involving the use of studio facilities, graphic design and animation, editing, audio production and shooting techniques.
-Must be fluent in all aspect of post-production, including: creative concept development; scripting; overseeing development of graphic design and/or animation elements; supervising all creative aspects of audio and video post-production.
-Shooting experience a plus.
-Proficiency on Final Cut editing system.
-Directing experience.
-Copy writing experience.
-Passion for all things music and pop-culture.
