INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

EMI Music North America is looking for enthusiastic, motivated interns for our Spring 2012 Internship Program.

INTERNSHIP: Financial Analysis Intern (Credit and Collections)

SALARY: Unpaid (for college credit only)

PURPOSE: To expose college student to hands on work experience in their field of Finance and Accounting

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in reconciling all open Return merchandise balances.
• reconcile all customers chargeback’s to credit memo issued
• follow up with any credits due pricing
• follow up with verification of shortage claims with our Return center
• follow up with customer for repayment of merchandise not received
• follow up on any balances open, by EMI or by the CUSTOMER
Assists in reconciling all Pricing Discrepancies
• reconcile all customers chargeback’s to credit memo issued
• follow up with any credits due pricing
• follow up with verification of pricing with sales reps
• follow up on any balances open, by EMI or by the CUSTOMER
Assist reconciling all Shortages claims
• reconcile all customers chargeback’s to credit memo issued
• follow up with customers on chargeback’s needing for reconciliation
• follow up with verification of shortages by contacting our shipping dept. for PODs'
• follow up with customers on POD provided for repayments
• follow up on any balances open, by EMI or by the CUSTOMER
Assist in reconciling any Advertising claims
• follow up with customer for proper advertising docs to clear chargeback’s from books
• follow up on any credit dues by EMI Accenture team

Benefits of Internship:
Will give the intern on hands understanding of how these different areas impact a companies financial standing and by improving the process will help:
• lower delinquency ratio for Recon and NET aging
• lower DSO
• lower cost benefits
• Peace of Mind
This would be great for someone that plans on becoming an auditor or financial analyst.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Accounting or Finance major preferred
• Excel skills required
• Microsoft office skills required
• Must be an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited college and be receiving academic credit for an internship.
• Internships require a commitment of at least 16 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks.
• Interest in pursuing a career in Finance
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, writing and organizational skills required.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
• Must be pro-active, detailed oriented, and possess good follow-through while adhering to deadlines.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks sufficiently while working independently.
• Strong interest in the music industry preferred.
• Strong organizational skills are preferred.
• Candidate must be reliable and have good time management skills.
