INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

EMI Music North America is looking for enthusiastic, motivated interns for our Spring 2012 Internship Program.

INTERNSHIP: Business Affairs Intern

SALARY: Unpaid (for college credit only)

PURPOSE: To expose college student to hands on work experience in the Music business specifically related to Legal Research, Business Affairs, Publishing, Marketing, Planning and Royalties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Legal Research/Business Affairs:
• Research and update physical and digital archives

Publishing
• Provide clearance information and hardcopy data to assist with licensing and royalty processing

Marketing/Planning
• Attend weekly meetings as an introduction to recorded music, marketing/promotion, production, special markets, and financial planning

Administrative:
• Liaise with Executive Staff
• Assist in miscellaneous filing

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Must be an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited college and be receiving academic credit for an internship.
• Internships require a commitment of at least 16 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, writing and organizational skills required.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
• Must be pro-active, detailed oriented, and possess good follow-through while adhering to deadlines.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks sufficiently while working independently.
• Strong interest in the music industry preferred.
• Strong organizational skills are preferred.
• Candidate must be reliable and have good time management skills.
