Classical music publisher (Dunvagen Music) and management company (St Rose Music) for several internationally recognized composers, including Philip Glass, Nico Muhly, Tom Waits, and Ravi Shankar seeks an intern for the Fall of 2017. This is a part-time, unpaid internship for college credit.
Responsibilities:
Our interns work on a little bit of everything, with opportunities to learn about music publishing, music management, recorded music, music preparation, and more.
- General copyright administration activities
- Work with ASCAP, BMI and HFA statements
- Research, data entry and Excel work
- Catalog management
- Promotional outreach
- Assisting day-to-day managers and digital teams with:
- Social media maintenance
-Social media data tracking and analytics
- Content brainstorming for upcoming album releases
- In-depth weekly reports on artists
- Supervise phone lines - take messages and communicate regularly with high profile artists, PR representatives, record label contacts, etc.
- Maintain an efficient and organized office space
- Ship packages and run errands as needed
- Assist music assistants and music copyists with preparation as needed
Candidates must be based in NYC. Must be comfortable with Mac computers and proficient in Excel. Ideal candidates are organized and detail oriented, with strong problem solving skills and a creative mind . Candidates should be effective team players with a strong passion for the music and entertainment industries.
Candidates should expect to work 2-3 days per week. Start and end dates late August - mid December (flexible)
