Sr. Manager - Marketing (Disney Xd)
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing & Creative, Disney XD, the Sr Manager will lead the marketing team supporting the Disney XD brand. YOUR responsibilities would include acting upon YOUR strong vision for expanding the reach of the Disney XD brand, strategic planning, creation & execution of innovative marketing strategies, being on the lookout for current and fresh marketing ideas with a strong strategy on how to execute.
You will partner with the Disney XD Creative team, Research, Production, Current Series Development, Digital Media, Social Marketing, Partnership Marketing (Synergy) and Programming groups.
In partnership with the Vice President of Marketing & Creative, you will develop and supervise the execution of integrated marketing plans that achieve strategic goals. Your plans will include support from all relevant business units, digital platforms, social platforms and off air/paid marketing support. You will present marketing plans to other lines of businesses, Senior Management and all global marketing partners. You will manage the planning, allocation and tracking of the marketing budget. You will evaluate research and competitive activity on an ongoing basis and determine related strategic marketing recommendations. You must be nimble with a cool head under pressure.
You must have a proven track record in team leadership and partnership. The work of your team must consistently deliver innovative marketing strategies with partnering creative elements that meet strategic and brand goals while adhering to global brand positioning and creative guidelines.
You must have a proven track record in leading brands and/or businesses that target a male/boy demographic ages 6-11 or relevant experience. Additionally, you must demonstrate significant experience in managing the strategic marketing process of a television/relevant business and show a proven track record in effectively motivating and managing a marketing team. You MUST have a great sense of humor and a want for smart risk taking. Innovative thinking must be shown and acted upon. Additionally, you must be experienced and highly engaged in digital media platforms that serve this target group. You must be proactive, forward thinking and an engaging presenter and communicator.
Responsibilities
You will lead a highly motivated Marketing team who support the growth of ratings, revenue and global expansion of the Disney XD business. This includes developing, motivating and evaluating employees, as well as fostering a highly collaborative team-oriented environment that consistently delivers best-in-class creative solutions, across all platforms.
You will liaise with our global marketing teams to ensure strategic consistency and elevate best practices as well as provide marketing consultation.
Core Responsibilities:
• Develop marketing strategy, positioning and execution plans for Disney XD programming priorities. Collaborate with critical stakeholders to define targeting, messaging and measurements of success.
• Manage off-air marketing strategy and execution for key IP Stakeholders (e.g. Marvel Entertainment, Lucas Film and LEGO). Nurture relationships and stay on top of partner priorities and marketing needs.
• Manage current and develop new external media or creative partners to produce top-notch creative for marketing campaigns.
• Communicate and collaborate cross divisionally on key network programming priorities – keeping abreast on all initiatives related to show campaigns and ensuring alignment and brand integrity.
• Provide thoughtful leadership over the development of media campaigns. Have a deep understanding of popular and effective media for the target audience. Ensure tactics align with KPIs, and overall network objectives. Manage team through ideation, creative development and execution of all media campaigns.
• Contribute to the strategy and ideation of social media marketing efforts, inclusive of overall platform strategy, special stunts and campaign launches. Be proficient in social media platform technology, functionality and limitations given the audience.
• Develop best practices and results based tactics, understanding and integrating ROI metrics and results-based data into ''going forward'' strategies.
• Create fiscal year budget plan and financial strategy. Manage a multi-million dollar budgets and work with finance to ensure proper allocations. Be accountable to articulating spend and budget reporting.
• Work with Global teams to ensure consistent information flow; provide marketing consultation, review and input on global marketing campaigns and assets.
• Work closely with other Lines of Businesses (LOB) such as Studio, Media Relations, Digital Strategy, Affiliate, Partnership Marketing, etc., coordinating amongst stakeholders to maximize synergy and implementation of consumer marketing initiatives.
• Manage the ideation and execution of marketing events, from small to large. Be thorough, organized, juggle multiple tasks and wear many hats while keeping cool under pressure. Have the ability to react quickly, be resourceful, and do what it takes to see a successful event through fruition.
• Lead a team of highly motivated individuals; provide mentorship, guidance and course correction as needed. Provide performance reviews, and be accountable to their career growth and ultimate success.
• Have a continued deep understanding of the competitive landscape as it relates to core audience, marketing opportunities, key programming and relevancy to our platforms.
• Collaborate with On Air Creative Director and Off Air creative partners in the development and delivery of creative assets that meet strategic goals of the campaigns.
• Drive and collaborate with social media team across all social media marketing efforts, listening, adjusting, and engaging with audience.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years professional experience in marketing strategy development and planning.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the creative development and production process.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in paid media strategy and execution
• Knowledge of paid media analytics, metrics and specs across: Digital (i.e. impressions, engagements, SOV, CTR, rich media, flash, etc), Local and National Cable TV, Cinema, Out of Home, Print, Search, Social, and Mobile
• Phenomenal communication skills and the ability to articulate complex thinking.
• Proven ability in engaging effectively with business partners and diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Strategic thinker, leveraging on statistics and facts to guide consumer-led initiatives
• Highly self-motivated.
• Capacity to be flexible, adaptable and resourceful – all at once.
