Product Manager (Digital Media)
The Digital Media Product Management team is integral to delivering highly scalable award winning digital products across Disney-ABC Television Group on browsers, tablets, phones, and connected TV devices including ABC, Freeform, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD apps.
The Disney-ABC Television Group Digital Product Management team is currently seeking a Product Manager to join our diverse, dynamic, and dedicated team. The position will focus on the Disney Channels World Wide digital product suite. It is located in Burbank, CA and will report to the Manager, Product Management.
Responsibilities
• With a user-first mindset, understand the needs, wants and challenges of the Disney Channels World Wide digital audience.
• Define kids digital video product requirements and core user experiences for the Disney Channels Roku and Web platforms.
• Engage with Design and Engineering teams to help formulate and execute the optimum product experience for our user base.
• Work with our Analytics team to instrument our products, with a goal of tracking traffic and usage patterns on our apps and sites, and will analyze data to proactively identify areas for improvement.
• Responsible for prioritizing requests, bug fixes and new development work in a fast-paced environment.
• Partner with internal teams such as Research, Programming, Marketing and Ad Sales to build products that engage our viewers and keep them coming back for more.
Basic Qualifications
• Must have a minimum of 1 years of product management experience with expertise in mobile, web or OTT products.
• Experience writing thorough product requirements, which help to clearly define product functionality and purpose.
• Requires a broad knowledge base and advanced skills in product management as well as an understanding of mobile products and technologies, streaming video and the digital media landscape.
• Proven ability to work with large Design and Engineering teams
• Demonstrated track record managing a broad array of projects concurrently
• Possess a passion for digital media and entertainment
• Must have excellent conceptual, communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated, natural problem-solver with ability to oversee projects both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• A self-starter who can liaise with our internal stakeholders including Content, Design, Marketing and Ad Sales to understand and document the product needs of these groups.
• Demonstrated record of leading cutting-edge and original solutions on tight deadlines
• Must be able to work in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• A minimum of 3 years of product management experience with expertise in OTT or Web.
• Experience with streaming video products
• Experience working in an agile development process
• Familiarity with our shows and brands
• Experience using A/B tests to inform development and make data-driven product decisions
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Management, Communications or like field (or equivalent work experience)
