Full Time Unpaid Internship
Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) is the business segment of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) that brings our Company's stories and characters to life through innovative and engaging physical products and digital experiences across more than 100 categories, from toys and t-shirts, to apps and console games. DCPI comprises: Disney Consumer Products (DCP), and Disney Interactive (DI). The combined segment is home to world class teams of app and game developers, licensing and retail experts, a leading retail business (Disney Store), artists and storytellers, and technologists who inspire imaginations around the world.
The Disney Professional Internships program offers a unique opportunity to explore the world of Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) in a seasonal, paid assignment with meaningful and productive projects that allow you to build your resume. You will be provided with challenging projects, performance feedback, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities. This position will start in September and last through January.
The Diversity & Inclusion Intern assists the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) team with providing support to employees/clients on the appropriate interpretation and application of diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Support on-going diversity & inclusion initiatives in the areas of workforce, workplace, and marketplace
• Organize diversity heritage month events and recognitions
• Support daily management of DCPI's 7 BERGs (Business & Employee Reosurce Groups)
• Create diversity & inclusion internal communications and update internal web page
• Research and present on D&I best practices
Basic Qualifications
• Passion for diversity and inclusion
• Demonstrates business orientation and acumen
• Strong service orientation
• Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated when interacting with all professional levels
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Approachable style; ability to connect with employees/clients and establish rapport
• Proven ability to work with confidential information
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly ambitious environment; flexible and adaptable
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Work, Power-point, and the Internet
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a Diversity & Inclusion, HR, or customer/client service oriented professional role
Required Education
Enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program.
Preferred Education
Majoring in psychology, sociology, human resources, organizational effectiveness and management or communications
