Full Time Paid Internship
Disney I ABC Advertising Sales is the unit responsible for selling advertising time and marketing communications solutions to clients. Ad Sales represents all brands including ABC Network, FREEFORM, and Disney Media, as well as digital and mobile opportunities.
Responsibilities
You will work on a wide array of projects, including but not limited to:
• Online research to pull data and background information for analyses and use in sales materials
• Attend select internal meetings; gain exposure to television, online and other cross-platform sales and research
• Create client briefs and executive summaries
• Pull and compile social media statistics for use in sales materials
• Assist with pulling, charting, and analyzing select ratings/viewing data
• Prepare editorial submissions for department's monthly newsletter

A day in the life…
• Elevate Ad Sales' B2B sales stories – Work with research resources to provide compelling data points and competitive positioning
• Engage with many members of the Sales team – Through project work, meetings and shadowing opportunities, gain a comprehensive view of Sales
• Use new tools and resources – Get trained on new tools and put them to use for projects
• Become well-informed about developments within the media industry as well as advertising verticals – Through project work, internal/external meetings, and industry publications, gain substantial learning about the business
• Visualize research results – Develop innovative, clear ways to visualize information
Basic Qualifications
What you bring to the role…
• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about television, digital and the media business
• Demonstrated superior communication skills
• Independent, outgoing and personable; quick and engaged learner, detail-oriented
• High mathematical aptitude
• Marketing, advertising or communication majors
• Competency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
As well as…
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the US
• All candidates must be at least 18 years old
• All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship
• All candidates must be available from September to December for the 15 week program
• All candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 15 hours/week (20 hours, 2 ½ days is ideal)
• All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
Preferred Qualifications
• Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year
• Strong preference will be given to undergraduate students in their Senior year
• Major or equivalent completed coursework in advertising, media or sales
• Previous work/internship experience within advertising, media or sales
• Experience with online sales/research tools from Lake 5, Nielsen Social, Shareablee, comScore, Redbooks, etc.
• Experience with online display or video advertising
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• General familiarity of current on-air content and other content distribution (browser, mobile apps)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Keynote
