We Are…
KABC-TV is an ABC owned television station (OTVS), located in a state-of-the-art facility in Glendale, near downtown Los Angeles. The station is in the #2 ranked television market in the country. Weekly, ABC7 produces over forty-four hours of local news, public affairs, magazine programs and public service campaigns.
Responsibilities
Your Role…
As the intern for Community Relations at ABC7, you will be provided a view of all aspects of production and operations of the Public Affairs department. This includes exposure to station-corporate initiatives and events originated by ABC7 (such as Spark of Love and Feed SoCal).
You may be part of:
-the production of the station's ''7-Day Planner,'' the community planning calendar.
-social media engagement.
-interaction via phone, email and in-person with the ABC7 community and corporate partners.
-connecting with community-based non-profit organizations, and the communities that interact with and are supported by ABC7.
Basic Qualifications
What you bring to the role:
-Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
-Experience with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
-Prior experience working in an office setting, including answering phones and emails.
-Social media proficiency.

-All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
-All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
-All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship.
-All candidates must be available during the months of late August/early September through December for the Fall internship program.
-All candidates must be available to work 32 hours per week, four 8-hour days, during a Monday through Friday 9 am-5 pm schedule.
-All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
-All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications
-Junior or Senior-level standing, or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date.
-Major or previous coursework in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration or related major.
-Experience in community engagement, corporate citizenship & social responsibility, event planning, urban development, or social media/branding a plus.
