Executive Director, Acquisitions
Responsibilities
• Direct program acquisitions across linear and digital platforms to curate content that enhances the network's competitive standing, ratings, identity, and advertising sales.
• Keep abreast of programming trends and rights packages, and pro-actively identify content that is relevant to Freeform's demographic.
• Maintain relationships with content owners and distributors to ensure Freeform gets first/early choice to acquire brand appropriate programming.
• In partnership with SVP, lead negotiations on Freeform's behalf for acquired content.
• Coordinate various aspects of deal execution with internal stakeholders.
• Ensure the delivery and quality of acquired materials, and the network's compliance with acquisition agreements.
Basic Qualifications
• Significant experience working in media/entertainment in the acquisition or distribution of various types of content.
• Standing relationships with domestic and international content distributors.
• Ability to negotiate complex acquisition agreements for content appearing on multiple platforms.
• A sophisticated understanding of content rights packages and the ROI implications of various deal structures.
• Deep understanding of ratings (Nielsen, comScore, etc.) and their use in evaluating performance and viewership.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with/understanding of program planning and scheduling for a television network.
• Strong understanding of the Freeform demographic.
Required Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
