The American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. Network Legal Affairs Department has an opening for an experienced legal assistant who is a self-starter to support its Assistant Chief Counsel (technology and consumer products) and Associate Principal Counsel (network legal affairs) in the Network Legal Affairs team. Additionally, this position provides administrative support to a paralegal. The position is located in Burbank, California.
Responsibilities
• Manage fast-paced, wide-ranging desks.
• Review, edit format and distribute Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents.
• Edit, redline, and finalize complex contracts with multiple changes, and keep track of contract versions.
• Maintain and coordinate Outlook calendars.
• Maintain accurate and organized physical and electronic files.
• Organize, manage and maintain filing system.
• Manage/Schedule conference calls and meetings.
• Update internal document management systems.
• Maintain consumer products license agreements in Sharepoint.
• Order and stock office supplies.
• Provide back-up to other assistants and other attorneys within the group, as well as assist with other department administrative support responsibilities.
• Answer telephone calls in a professional and responsive manner.
• Prepare and process expense reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Send out finalized contracts/agreements for execution, both physically and using Docusign.
• Track all agreements out for execution and follow up with external/internal parties for status updates (if necessary), using Docusign.
• Update internal stakeholders of fully executed contracts/agreements.
• Provide support to other internal teams as needed.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 1 year administrative support experience assisting an attorney at a law firm or in-house legal department
• Previous contract experience; redlining experience
• PC knowledge - Microsoft Word /Outlook/Powerpoint (current versions)
• Strong proofreading skills required
• Ability to take accurate, fast notes
• Simultaneously handle multiple tasks with accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions and change course of action quickly
• Detail oriented with the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
• Effective communicator, both verbal and written
• Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful and flexible
• Strong people skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to take initiative and work with limited supervision
• Able to work overtime on an ''as-needed'' basis
Required Education
• B.A. or B.S. degree
