This position's primary responsibility is to drive revenue through group and tourism sales outreach for Discovery Times Square's current and upcoming exhibits. This position works closely with the Marketing, Box Office and Operations teams in a fast-paced, multifaceted organization. Experience and contacts within the tour & travel, international and student markets are required; CRM management, event planning experience a plus. Candidate should be a motivated self-starter with great interpersonal skills.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
-Day to day management of small internal group sales team and fulfillment manager
-Implementation and management of a CRM system, sales tracking and reporting process
-Development of sales incentive programs and new business discovery process
-Maintain and cultivate new voucher partner relationships and monitor sales impact
-Develop and maintain trade sales partnerships and initiate new partnerships and contacts
-Generate sales through continued outreach of past buyers and cultivation of new leads.
-Collaborate with marketing team on marketing initiatives and T&T media buys
-Promote exhibits at various trade shows, serve as face of sales team at industry events
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
-Proven self-starter with strong work ethic, self-motivated, resourceful, conscientious, punctual and energetic.
Someone who thrives in a fast paced, start-up-like environment
-Previous group ticket sales experience
-Experience and contacts within the tour & travel, international and student markets
-Extensive knowledge of the NYC tourism industry
-Tourism Trade Show exhibiting experience
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional phone manner and ability to interact with a variety of clients
-Proficient in Excel and Word on a Mac platform, CRM experience (implementation and management)
-Multi-lingual candidates a plus.
