Summary of Duties: Define and guide the customer experience across Discovery's digital portfolio. Drive and realize the product strategy for our TV Nets digital portfolio. Focus on operationalizing best practices and capitalizing on market trends to build traffic and engagement, innovation, and revenue across traditional and emerging digital platforms while seamlessly integrating advertising, subscription or alternative methods for monetization. Drive the product roadmap and lead the execution of the company's digital product releases. Make strategic decisions regarding when and where to build, partner, license or use market vendors. Bring a holistic 360 view to developing compelling consumer offerings, incorporating research/analytics, design, editorial, product marketing, and project management. Incorporate the insights of peers across ad sales/client solutions, technology, marketing, and other functional areas with the end goal of aligning strategic, experiential, and monetization elements. Design and implement a best practice agile product process for all digital product development. Design and implement agile product development rituals and documentation. Build, coach, and champion a team of product managers that define and deliver the consumer offering while working collaboratively, often, and early with the editorial, sales/client solutions, marketing, analytics and technology functions. Identify key performance indicators, KPIs for measuring consumer offering engagement and audience generation and enact the system for data driven iteration.
Masters’ degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Media, or a closely related field and ten (10) years’ experience in the offered role or as a Product Developer Vice President, Director, or related role. Experience must include: 10 years of experience with digital media product management, running product teams for major media companies, designing and managing the development process for digital product development, and online consumer behavior. 4 years of experience launching TV Everywhere, TVE, products in the US market; 4 years of experience designing and implementing TVE authorization flows using Adobe Pass; 8 years of experience designing and launching video products for the US market using the Brightcove player; 8 years of experience launching subscription and premium products in the US market on multiple platforms; 8 years of experience running an agile product development process in the digital media division of a traditional media company; 8 years of experience creating and evaluating visual design; driving user engagement and audience growth; providing innovative revenue solutions; analyzing digital media trends and competitive offerings; interpreting web analytics and search engine optimization; building, growing, and monetizing online communities; working with ad ops and ad trafficking software including Freewheel or Doubleclick in a major media company; 8 years of experience creating and executing against a product roadmap from ideation to launch; 8 years of experience designing & releasing games for phones and tablets for major entertainment brands.
