Position Summary:
Responsibilities:
Discovery's Facilities Department manages a variety of critical logistical needs for all Discovery employees; ranging from Special Event Services, a robust Safety Program, Printing and Production, Security, Mailroom and Engineering Operations, as well as Global Facility Support. With facilities services, including event planning management, Discovery employees are able to function in a safe, comfortable and solutions-driven workplace.
As an Event Planning INtern, some of the awesome things you could work on include:
• Opportunity to play a vital role in planning and preparing for the annual “Say Yes to the Prom” event in partnership with Discovery Human Resources and the TLC Network
• Planning and preparation for various events
• Updating the Discovery Events Archives database
• Working with vendors on updating all required documentation for event services, such as gaining COI’s, W9 Forms, updated Licenses and more
• Provide on-site support and coordination for all meetings at One Discovery Place
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a resource to customers
Requirements:
* Must be currently enrolled as a full time student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
* Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
* Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
