The Role
We’re looking for a sharp, creative, enthusiastic, do-it-all Associate Producer with an interest in everything Discovery: from adventure and exploration to science and animals, from style to crime. This candidate must have a solid understanding of how to create video content, from traditional studio / camera television to shooting, editing and uploading on a smartphone. They must have social media skills, and a network of ready-to-shoot / ready-to-edit / ready-to-produce colleagues. A self-starting personality, with the ability to jump in a deliver “above expectations” results no matter what the challenge, is a must.
Responsibilities:
1. Ideate, organize, and produce original content for all current and emerging digital and social platforms on all of our channels.
2. Identify new content areas for our brands.
3. Create content that attracts new audiences to our brands on social and digital.
4. Collaborate with multiple teams, from social and marketing to producing and sales.
5. Oversee small production teams, as well as 3rd party producers.
6. Keep multiple teams and people organized, on tight schedules and deadlines.
7. When necessary, shoot, edit or write short and mid-form video.
Requirements:
* 2 years of experience in online/interactive media or equivalent.
* A reel of current work, demonstrating creativity and approach.
* Must be proficient in shooting, editing (Adobe Premiere or Final Cut), and writing.
* Must possess the ability to be creative and level-headed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
* Great communications skills, a can-do attitude, and collaborative working style are vital.
* Experience in television or broader entertainment is a plus.
* Evening and weekend work may be required.
* Must have the legal right to work in the US
