The Role
This position requires a highly organized and driven team player that has an entrepreneurial spirit. The focus of this role will assist the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and Science Channel Marketing Team in developing and executing marketing campaigns as well as updating team documents and tracking timelines.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate specific aspects of select marketing campaigns, promotions and/or events for various Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and Science Channel program initiatives.
2. Manage disciplined project timelines to ensure all deadlines are met
3. Track campaign budgets as well as invoice and payment process, ensuring projects stay within assigned budget
4. Help kick off new projects by facilitating external data collection relating to the promoted program that will be distributed to the entire campaign team
5. Ensure project documents that encapsulate campaign activity are up to date
6. Maintain open communication with supervisor
7. Assist with miscellaneous duties as necessary, including dubbing, gathering materials for internal or external presentations, archiving campaigns, etc.
8. Fulfillment of ongoing requests from internal/external partners
9. Other duties assigned
Requirements:
* 1-3 years of advertising/marketing experience and/or relevant internship experiences
* Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising or related field
* Genuine passion for entertainment industry is a must! Highly motivated, proactive, extremely well-organized, enthusiastic and ability to learn by on the job training
* Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
* Advertising agency and/or television experience a plus
* Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills as this is a highly collaborative position
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Must have legal right to work in the United States
