We are seeking candidates for the position of Digital Marketing Specialist to be located in our Miami office.
Position Summary:
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for executing and implementing marketing strategies to drive tune-in, viewer engagement and brand awareness of Discovery Family Channel. This digital-savvy marketer is passionate about social content development, production and marketing; understands how to use content and social media to tell stories and create rich social engagement experiences. This position requires a highly detail oriented, organized and assertive individual with excellent communications skills who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Create and execute social media strategies and tactics to engage fans and drive tune-in.
2. Responsible for content creation, monitoring and maintenance of social media platforms as well as management of channel website.
3. Create viewer acquisition strategies to ensure reach and growth.
4. Develop and manage social media calendar aligning with network / programming campaigns.
5. Track performance of all social media platforms to ensure social media engagement and business objectives are met.
6. Collaborate with producers, public relations, designers and programming to execute original content.
7. Create and manipulate photo and video assets for social distribution.
8. Help establish close relationships with Facebook, Twitter and platform vendors.
9. Work with Director on other assigned marketing duties.
10. Work with Public Relations Manager to promote media coverage secured during press campaigns.
Job Requirements
* 3-5 years experience producing custom editorial and social content
* Highly detailed oriented and organized with keen ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in very fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrated ability to map out a marketing strategy and then drive that strategy proven by testing and metrics.
* Keen sense of the power of social media and digital media.
* Thorough knowledge of (but not limited to), Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Vine, Spredfast, HootSuite (or the like), and user generated content platforms.
* Deep knowledge of best practices in digital and social media.
* Fluent understanding of media platforms and the ability to foresee trends.
* Excellent communication, organizational and editorial judgment skills.
* Strong computer and digital video production skills and ability to quickly learn new software.
* Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
* Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
* Ability to work in design software (Photoshop/Adobe) is a plus.
* Strong communication and relationship management skills, ability to influence and work towards different objectives and priorities.
* A passion for Discovery, television and the media industry.
* Experience working in the Digital Media department for a television broadcaster.
* Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Lotus Notes competence.
* Video editing experience for digital platforms
* Knowledge of web design and basic design practices
* Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and website publishing best practices
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
