The Role
The Coordinator, Social Impact Partnerships will work across Discovery Education in support of amplifying the DE story as it relates to impact, youth achievement and transformation. Reporting to CEP’s Account Services Team, the Coordinator, Social Impact Partnerships will focus his/her efforts in four key areas:
1) Build awareness of current K-12 programs across all CEP partners, identifying opportunities to augment/expand client impact through communicating existing or new initiatives, in support of Account Services targets renewals & upsells and their related portfolio of programs and renewal efforts
2) Serve as key K12 POC to help identify localized strategies that support current programs.
3) Partner with Ideation team on renewal and upsell opportunities including understanding clients key priorities/business needs, researching relevant trends (both client trade and educational), developing concept/ideation documents that drive client impact
4) Programmatic Support - At key times during the year, provide support for Account Services
Responsibilities:
1. In support of Division’s overall growth and social impact profile, Coordinator will execute the development and implementation of strategic merchandising communication strategies, working in close collaboration with Account Services teams, and in support of targeted renewals, upsell and cross-sell efforts.
2. Identify opportunities for client merchandising monitoring K12 news, Industry news, Client news/accolades. Create/draft communications to clients on relevant topics
3. Research, proactively formulate and present “opportunity action plans” to deepen engagement and impact with current partners - operationlize communications
4. Build out expiring revenue and strategic pipeline - identifying areas of focus and opportunities for growth
5. Lead competitive analysis across key accounts and industries to support merchandising/renewal/upsell strategy
6. Manage VP’s salesforce accounts ensuring all new contacts are properly incorporated and emails sent are properly attributed. Create master reporting requirements/data pulls for DE executive updates
7. Serve as the “office back-end” for Account Services team, maintaining accurate/timely records within Salesforce for all assigned areas of Account Services business to ensure the effective capturing of key conversations, activities and contacts in for assigned current and prospective partners
8. Create and manage a master relationship grid for all accounts including: main POC's and internal divisions that tangentially either support or may benefit from our programmatic work
9. Work with marketing/data team understanding usage metrics, budget, timeline and ROI in the context of product offerings supporting renewals and upsells
10. Execute case studies and success stories for external publicity and promotion, as related to current account programs, drafting regular communication for Account Services partners in order to strategically merchandise key DE activity across all areas of business.
11. Attend external client events (CEP and K-12) in support of strategic relationship building in order to expand the current portfolio of work
12. Successful candidate must be able to convey the “Discovery Education vision” in an interactive, professional, engaging, high-impact and actionable manner
General Responsibilities:
13. Proactively maintain a thorough understanding of Discovery Education’s overall goals and strategic vision.
14. Maintain an understanding of industry trends, current events, and any related current client information that may impact the business by talking with clients/internal/external partners, reading professional publications, researching all available prospect/product resources and participating in professional organizations.
15. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and record keeping.
16. Must have exceptional work ethic and flexibility to take meetings and travel on short notice.
17. Demonstrate independence and good time management skills. Needs to possess ability to self-manage and work from remote locations.
18. Must be able to multitask, maintaining all internal and external responsibilities and not letting travel interrupt work.
19. Understand new technologies and industry trends and be able to speak to how they impact the business.
20. Communicate workload focus on a regular basis (daily, weekly, etc) and keep agreed to plans/projects on track in terms of follow-up.
21. Proactively share information across the division to coordinate and support all areas of the business.
22. Demonstrate a “problem solving-solution oriented” approach.
23. Maintain clear and complete account files (ensuring ease of information sharing).
24. Travel approximately 40% of the time (as opportunities dictate).
25. Effectively collaborate with Ideation on all Account Services renewals and growth program opportunities.
26. Strategically collaborate with both cross-divisional and cross-company teams to assist in creation of presentations/proposal strategy that help drive Account Services efforts.
27. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of competitive landscape, new and innovative marketing solutions.
Requirements:
Basic qualifications
* Candidate must possess 1-3 years partnership sales, marketing, communications or consulting experience, either in a FTR or specifically related internship/apprenticeship capacity with Education organization, in roles with proven experience in generating and communicating creative concepts, and developing messaging and crafting compelling presentations that reflect client priorities.
* Exceptional written communication skills a must. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal communication and organizational skills required.
* Ideal candidate has recent experience working in sponsorship/partnership arenas, in a role with revenue responsibility (either new or delivery of) and oversight of campaign deliverables against assigned margin targets.
* Must have proven experience working with Keynote, PowerPoint and other applications.
* Candidate must possess understanding of/passion for education marketplace and strategies to communicate partner messaging in that environment.
