Help drive Discovery Global Enterprises (DGE) business by supporting consumer, digital products, and eCommerce businesses by executing best-in-class marketing campaigns across Discovery family of networks.
Support app and digital product business development efforts: we are looking for someone who is passionate about building digital engagement that customers love and has experience building mobile applications and experiences. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out, and optimize desktop and mobile products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.
Responsibilities:
eCommerce: DiscoveryStore.com
1. Utilize eCommerce platform (Shopify) to build, merchandise, and market Consumer Products on DiscoveryStore.com
2. Create a plan and utilize external vendor and Discovery creative teams to maintain / optimize eCommerce sites.
3. Participate in the creation of wireframes, user flows and user experience requirements.
4. Manage eCommerce promotional calendar
5. Work with CP lines of business and network contacts to develop store capsule collections with print-on-demand vendors to merchandise Discovery online stores.
6. Reporting and insights to track key eCommerce metrics and alignment to P&L budget goals.
7. Support vendor relationships and payments
Online Retail Business Development
8. Align internal eCommerce & online retail partners (ex. Amazon) to ensure Discovery Consumer Products are well-represented and expand our distribution.
9. Assist in the sourcing and deal making to find online direct-to-consumer businesses (ex. Zazzle.com, Kiwicrate.com)
Premium Digital Products & Gaming
10. Support ideation and development of mobile and consumer-facing digital products for Discovery family of networks (video games, connected toys, premium VR & AR experiences):
11. Significant collaboration across Digital, Discovery VR, Marketing, IT and other internal stakeholders to define and build products from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on customer research and industry trends.
12. Conduct competitive analysis and keep abreast of industry best practices as it might inform new product development and existing product evolution.
13. Support the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities and optimization.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree required, with concentration in eCommerce or Digital business and a passion for technology
* Working knowledge of Shopify, Basic HTML, CMS systems, with a general comfort utilizing these platforms.
* Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop, illustrator, Dreamweaver and InDesign).
* Minimum of 1 successful year of brand or consumer products marketing experience.
* Ability to multi-task and manage simultaneous deadlines in a department that serves many time zones, cultures and business units worldwide.
* Strong organizational and attention to detail skills, good written and verbal communication and problem solving skills are a must.
* Ability to learn internal and external database systems to source photos, program details, competitive research insights, etc.
* Proactive thinker who will strive to see the team succeed and contribute to the overall strength of the department via their professional work ethic and optimistic attitude.
* Knowledge in the technical area of television or licensing a plus.
* Solid understanding of non-traditional media platforms and content
* Ability to work effectively across an organization
