Full Time Job
The Payroll Specialist processes and coordinates payroll activities for the entire company in the various locations.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Assists in payroll activities such as recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling
payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls
• Partners with accounting/finance and in maintaining the general ledger interface and producing
management reports
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll tax issues
• Reviews personnel records to determine names, rates of pay, and position titles of newly hired employees as well as changes in wage rates and occupations of employees on payroll. Maintains the Employee Information System.
• Enter or change employee's login name in HR Oracle record, and set up employee time card account in Oracle. Notify employee via e-mail that the time card account is ready to be used.
• Adjusts payroll errors and responds to complaints.
• Responds to notifications from state agencies or others regarding unemployment claims filed by former or existing employees
• Assists Human Resources with salary administration issues
• Maintains 401K reporting for discrimination testing
• Maintains information for Workmen's Compensation and 401K Audits
• Administers HRIS/Payroll System
• Partners with Benefits Team in maintaining benefits interface with payroll
• Monitors wage and hour issues to remain in compliance with FLSA
• Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
• Enter rehires/terminations; address changes (HR)/ rate changes; changes in tax exemptions and voluntary deductions both in Oracle and PayXpert, as needed
• Track Vacation and Sick leave accruals
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related area required
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
• Five plus years of work experience in a payroll area working with multiple locations
• Expert user of ADP Workforce
• Preferred working knowledge of ADP Pay eXpert Ver2
• Oracle experience desired

situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Strong Reasoning Ability required:
• Ability to apply common sense and a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local laws as they apply to payroll processing
• Ability to calculate commissions, proportions and percentages
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
• Office working environment
• Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours pending production needs
