Job Description
dick clark productions is seeking a strategic execution-oriented, highly connected and successful sales media and sponsorship Executive Vice President. Reporting to the President, the Executive Vice President, Sales Sponsorship must be a leader who is able to deliver measurable results that make the division's strategic vision a reality. This position will be based in Santa Monica, CA.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties
• Drive revenue and sponsorship opportunities from all of the Dick Clark produced events and properties
• Liaise with networks, partners and clients
• Drive brand integrations including broadcast, digital, social and experiential
• Oversight of ticket sales and brand licensing
• Oversight of team based in LA and includes NYC
• Provide a strong day-to-day leadership presence
• Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the team
• Oversee the team in developing a pipeline of qualified sponsorship and media prospects large enough to meet or exceed financial goals
• Understand clients' marketing needs and business models
• Manage client relationships from initial pitch through transition/onboarding, onto long-term engagements of ongoing strategic management and leadership
• Achieve results by accurately forecasting revenue, delivering quality solutions to marketing needs, solving problems and seeing them through to resolution
• Influence and gain buy-in from all internal stakeholders
• Must be a strong collaborator that works well cross-functionally across the company and externally
Critical Skills
• 10+ years in a sales leadership role
• Strong agency and client relationships
• Television and Digital experience
• Proven track record of achieving or beating sales targets
• Financial experience - budget analysis, P&L management, forecasting, etc.
• Must possess strong business acumen
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to lead team
• Strategic thinker
• Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Strong decision making abilities
Education and Experience Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive proven revenue development experience in roles focused on integrated sponsorship & digital media expertise, preferably in consultative selling to Fortune 500 C-level decision makers and/or similar senior level agency decision makers
• Bachelor's Degree required. Graduate degree/MBA a plus
• Proven track record of successfully closing seven figure sponsorship and/or media deals
• Solid understanding of the digital/technology landscape including industry trends, key players, terminology and overall knowledge of the sponsorship/media landscape with ability to craft integrated marketing plans and solutions
• Strong goal orientation with proven track record of building a pipeline of new business and exceeding established financial targets
• Robust analytical skills, including market strategy and a value-based selling process
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to create and deliver convincing and strategic sales approaches, proposals, documentations and presentations
• Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively inform, motivate, and organize a multi-person sales team
• Advanced negotiating skills
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while staying highly organized and detail-oriented
• Willing and able to travel for business
• Functional experience and/or knowledge will include:
o Specific advertising (media) sales and marketing insight and expertise.
o Familiarity and comfortably building relationships and presenting to senior client and agency personnel in media (e.g.: strategy, content, digital), and client-side marketing/sponsorship/activation teams
o Knowledge and ability to read and understand entertainment and licensing legal contracts
o Expertise at development of a fully integrated marketing program.
