I run an independent record label and artist management/coaching company in Seattle called Desibelle Entertainment. I'm looking for a part-time intern to help with social media marketing and event promotion (music business specific). This is a remote, unpaid internship. College credit possible.
Hours: 8-10/week
Duration: 12 weeks
Location: Remote
Pay: None (college credit possible)
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with event coordination & promotion: creating and scheduling social media posts, coordinating with venue bookers, coordinating with other musicians on bill, emailing gig posters, sending show advances, sending stage plots and input lists to sound engineers, creating Facebook ads (95% OF CONTENT IS CREATED BY ME)
- Creating event and ticket links (Facebook, Bandsintown, Eventbrite, Ticketfly, etc.)
- Announcing event in local event calendars
- Scheduling
- Helping with e-mail newsletter
- Design event banners
- Design show posters
- Emailing (venue bookers, other musicians, sound engineers, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Passion for the music business
- Basic computer skills
- Reliable access to the internet
- Strong time-management skills (especially the ability to meet deadlines)
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to post to social media in a way that is consistent with branding
- Excellent & professional interpersonal skills (you will be communicating with venue bookers, talent curators, musicians, etc.)
- Experience using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube for marketing purposes
- Basic graphic design experience (you will be creating event banners, posters, etc.)
- Basic online research skills
- Any music business-specific experience is preferred, but not required
