Responsibilities:
Driver's tasks will include, but are not limited to:
Must adhere to management's guidelines for Driver Communication Requirements
Follow all traffic and parking laws including commercial vehicle stipulations
Safely drive vehicles to job sites, vendors and company locations as assigned
Driver is responsible for contents of truck and how it arrives. Even if you didn't load it you need to check it. Driver is responsible for its safe arrival whenever the vehicle is moving. Make sure all cargo is secured properly
Driver is expected to supervise, advise and assist in loading the vehicle
Be in or within sightlines of cargo compartment of vehicle for duration of load-in and load-out
Make sure proper safety and logistic equipment is on hand to protect the load and the vehicle and use the equipment appropriately
Be aware of safety around truck
Report all pertinent info back to supervisor - traffic violations, parking tickets, accidents, damage to vehicle, damage to content, crew or personnel misconduct in/around the vehicle
Requirements:
Must have a valid CDL driver license.
Must have a clean records abstract dating back at least four (4) years
Must be eligible to obtain a DOT medical certificate for commercial vehicle operator
Must be comfortable operating a vehicle in & around NYC, NJ, and the greater tri-state area
Vehicles range in size from cargo vans to 24 foot box trucks and beyond
Must have experience loading trucks with crews
Must be able to climb up onto and down from equipment
Must be able to lift 75 pounds
Must be able to meet the needs of a physically demanding job - loading/unloading trucks, pushing cases, lifting goods & equipment, etc.
Must value good communication and follow-through
Must be punctual
Must be responsible
