Position Overview
Deluxe's network enabled product lines include mobile app development, website and web services, ancillary device integrations (e.g. Smart TVs, Xbox Smart Glass, etc.) and Blu-ray BD-Live software.
The Technical Project Manager is part of a team responsible for both product planning and product marketing of Deluxe's network enabled product lines. This includes managing the product line and specific features throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements from studios, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing, and internal business units to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met. The Technical Project Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support Deluxe's overall strategy and goals.
You must possess a unique blend of technical, communicative, and business skills with a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market with the client to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You must be able to communicate both internally and externally with a variety of different client and business units within the company to define product release requirements. You will work with and support the studio marketing communications on the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales team and key studio customers.
Primary Responsibilities
• Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
• Communicate both verbally and written on a regular basis with both external and internal teams and clients.
• Specifying and documenting product requirements for current and future products by conducting market research, on-going visits to clients, meetings with internal business units, etc.
• Drive for the on-time delivery of all projects.
• Develop, track, and deliver on project budgets.
• Driving a solution set across development teams through market requirements, product definition, and positioning.
• Specify the project plan, coordinate and manage the design, development, and test of the product/features across the Deluxe Media organization.
• Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
• Be an expert with respect to the competition.
• Perform product demos to customers.
• Develop sales presentations and collateral.
• Act as the champion within the company and within the industry for Deluxe's Blu-ray products and features.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill-set:
• 3 years of technical project management experience.
• Demonstrated success defining and launching products.
• Knowledgeable in mobile, online, and Blu-ray(desired) technologies.
• Computer Science or Engineering degree or work experience a strong plus.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal reporting structure.
• Flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project deadlines.
