Details: We are currently looking for a motivated Systems Engineer to join our crew in Santa Monica, CA.

Summary:

Working within the facility’s engineering group, the systems engineer will help further the deployment of our cutting-edge computing infrastructure, perform systems management and maintenance duties, as well as provide support to artists and production personnel.

Candidate qualifications/Requirements:

- Experience managing and supporting high-performance computing environment: specialized workstations and servers, large storage systems, complex network infrastructures, and services, preferably in a large post-production or visual effects environment.

- Proficiency with various flavors of Linux, Mac OSX and Windows.

- BS/MS in a related technology discipline required.

- Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to understand complex systems.

- Desire to continually learn new skills and further cutting edge technology projects.

- Strong organizational and follow through skills.

- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and prioritize assignments.

- Flexible to work overtime, and weekends as needed.

- Solid written communication and interpersonal skills.

- Capable of maintaining confidentiality.

Preferred candidate qualifications:

- Understanding of post-production workflows, notably digital intermediate processes, digital dailies production, and automated encoding processes.

- Experience supporting operators using the following applications: Autodesk Flame, Autodesk Smoke, Autodesk Lustre, Blackmagic Resolve, DVS Clipster, Apple Final Cut.

- Knowledge of professional video equipment and associated infrastructure.

- Experience configuring, calibrating and maintaining professional display devices and digital cinema projectors.
