Encore, a Deluxe Entertainment Services Group company, has a position in its newly developed visual effects department in New York City. Encore provides post production services to top television series and is owned by Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings Inc. Deluxe is the leading provider of a broad range of entertainment industry services and technologies to major Hollywood Studios and an international client base.
We have an opening for a Roto/Track/Paint Artist. This position will be located in New York, NY.
Summary:
The Roto/Track/Paint Artist will assist Compositors to push work thru the department accurately and efficiently. Responsible for creating roto mattes, tracking elements, and painting clean plates for Compositors as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Animating roto shapes accurately on an individual shot basis.
- Integrating tracking elements into rotoscoping when necessary.
- Shape compositing, fill modes and opacity settings.
- Work with compositors to track elements as needed.
- Paint clean plates for Compositor to use.
- Take technical and creative direction from Compositors to help them achieve high quality results.
- Continue to gain experience in VFX Compositing skills.
Requirements:
- BS/BA preferred.
- 1-2 years previous experience in the industry.
- Dustbusting or Roto experience is a plus.
- Basic working knowledge of Compositing, Photoshop, Rotoscoping software (such as Nuke, Fusion, or Silhouette), and tracking software (such as Mocha or Syntheyes).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exercises close attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take criticism, and work under high pressure with short deadlines.
- Willing to work overtime, overnights, and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
