Encore, a Deluxe Entertainment Services Group company, has a position in its visual effects department in Hollywood, CA. Encore is an Emmy award winning VFX house, providing outstanding visual effects work for television and motion pictures. Some of our past or current projects include Homeland, Under the Dome, Ray Donovan, Banshee, Tomorrow People, House MD, Hawaii Five-O, Weeds, Revenge, Castle, Pan Am, NCIS. Encore provides post production services to top television series and is owned by Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings Inc. Deluxe is the leading provider of a broad range of entertainment industry services and technologies to major Hollywood Studios and an international client base.
We currently have an opening for Nuke Technical Director for our office based in Hollywood, CA.
Experience/Skills:
• At least 5 year's industry experience in a similar role.
• Experience with VFX Post Production:
o Processes, techniques, technologies and software.
• Supporting and developing tools for:
o Asset tracking, Compositing / Color pipeline, QuickTime generation.
• Familiarity with the APIs and use of:
o Nuke, Hiero, FrameCycler, RV, Draft, Deadline, Shotgun, Vray.
• Programming experience in C .
• Familiarity with developing on Windows platforms.
• Experience with version control processes and software:
o SVN, Perforce, Git.
• Familiarity with databases:
o MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
• Strong knowledge of Python and PyQt.
• Ability to problem solve without supervision as well as collaborate as a team and recommend technical solutions.
• Positive can-do attitude and an ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Job Responsibilities:
• Supporting existing in-house tools and frameworks.
• Recommend, implement and support Nuke tools and Gizmos to enhance and optimize the existing pipeline.
• Developing tools using third party and open-source software.
• Extending and integrating asset tracking frameworks and artist tools.
• Supporting and optimizing rendering workflows.
• Supporting users on Windows.
