We have an opening for a Network Connectivity & Operations Engineer. This position will be located in New York, NY.
Summary:
Network connectivity and operations engineer supporting Deluxe NY Metro area production LAN and metro WAN network operations. Facilities include: CO3/Method 18th Street, Beast TV 16th Street, Filmcore, 5th Ave, Deluxe NY Hudson St, and Deluxe Northvale. Maintain key engineering & operations linkage between NY Production facilities, Deluxe IT Infrastructure team, production network and production application teams (Connectivity and MediaXpress) to support network operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first line operational support and management of production network switches and routers. Maintain switch configurations and modifications based on production workflow requirements.
- Perform network software and hardware upgrades across networks including compatibility testing and release management. Interface with IT Infrastructure group to support the resolution of DNS, Firewall and other potential IT projects and service area responsibilities.
- Develop SOPs and projects targeted to improve operations between Deluxe production facilities, Deluxe IT and production support groups. Areas target for improvement include: facility and network uptime, facility resiliency and trouble reporting and resolution.
- Support voice telecommunication operational needs for upgrades, changes and deletions. Process orders and oversee service implementations for voice services.
- Regularly communicate with internal customers regarding status of service implementations, trouble tickets and network health issues.
- Maintain network documentation including diagrams, maps, configurations, server backups for LAN and Metro transport networks.
- Particiapte in network planning sessions and offer solutions to streamline LAN and WAN transport services. Develop plan to improve service levels and indentify gaps in operational support.
Requirements / Education:
- BS in computer science, electronics technology or other technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Hands-on operating knowledge Cisco & Brocade switches/routers and HP servers.
- Experienced with file based media and entertainment workflows and understanding demanding client needs is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with WAN optimization products including Aspera and Signiant.
- Cisco CCNA, CCNP or BCSE certifications are a plus.
- Experience in Linux/Unix and Databases are a plus.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English, and the aptitude to communicate with all levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including VISIO.
- Strong analytical and technical skills in field. Works well under pressure.
- The ability to work independently and be resourceful. Excels a fast-paced production environment.

- Ability to interface with key executives and managers across Deluxe.
- Must be responsive and solutions driven.
- Will utilize best practices and specialized training and experience as expert in field.
- Reproducible results that meet or exceed customer expectation that can be documented for future education.
- Must perform task at a high level.
