We currently have an opening for a Digital Asset Management Engineer. This position will be located in Burbank, CA.
Job Description:
- Service 24/7 production needs for audio/video data management, using a file-based storage-area-network (SAN) workflow in a Macintosh environment.
- Perform ProTools session management and prepare final deliverables.
- Follow in-house and client specified file-naming guidelines.
- Prepare files, submit and receive electronic deliveries over Aspera and other file transfer platforms.
- Prepare, burn & label DVDs, create/restore LTO archives using TAR and Retrospect.
- Work with a variety of files/formats: SDII, WAV, Quicktime, ProRes, Exabyte, AIT, MOD, DLT, LTO.
- Transcode digital video files of the highest quality and smoothest playback for client sessions.
- Minimize production wait time by responding to various hardware/software/scheduling issues.
- Follow instructions provided in work orders but be able to decipher technical errors or workflow issues which could lead to mistakes or missed deadlines. Alert IT staff or project managers.
- Setup file-transfer credentials for external clients/vendors, troubleshoot related bandwidth issues.
- Recommend best medium for deliverables based on deadlines, access needs, bandwidth, file size(s).
- Prompt and thorough verbal/written communication across all departments.
- Promote data security procedures (anti-piracy) and follow confidentiality policies.
- Interact with client services, scheduling, engineers, other Deluxe departments, clients and vendors.
- Perform Macintosh desktop and network technical support across all departments.
- Facilitate corporate Help Desk support requests.
- Assist Systems Administrators to facilitate efficient desktop, server and network troubleshooting.
- Basic email troubleshooting for all employees.
- Occasionally work other shifts, unsupervised, to accommodate staff days off or project overtime.
Education, Special Training and/or Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technologies strongly recommended or recent bachelor's degree in film/television production. Two years hands-on experience in IT support in a mid-sized post-production environment. We are a Mac shop, but Windows/Linux experience can be helpful. File-based audio/video post-production experience highly recommended, with strong familiarity with ProTools HD and file/session management as utilized in the film/TV industry. Professional experience with using/troubleshooting digital video codecs and Final Cut Studio also helpful. Background in Digital Asset Management is extremely helpful.
Requirements:
- Available to work Swing shift over the weekend.
