We currently have an opening for an Asset Specialist. This position will be located in Burbank, CA.
Primary Responsibilities
• Responsible for the safe and secure handling of sensitive client digital assets.
• Will work with data from a variety of sources.
• Responsible for transcoding, capturing, migrating, archiving, verifying and preserving these assets.
• Will work with different media and file types including, but not limited to: VTR formats, LTO, DLT, DTF, (S)AIT, frame-based sequences (video), stream/container based video (compressed and uncompressed), audio files (compressed and uncompressed), and metadata.
• Required to communicate effectively and efficiently with both technical and non-technical staff. Limited client interaction as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill-set:
• Must have a working knowledge of all common file and tape based video formats currently used in Film/TV production and distribution.
• Successful candidate should be adept in the use of editing/playback/transcoding tools including, but not limited to: Nuke, Framecycler, Clipster/Pronto, Final Cut Pro 7, Digital Rapids, and Rhozet to capture, edit, transcode, and convert files according to client needs.
• Candidate must be extremely detail oriented, efficient, and motivated in order to meet client demands of detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Must be familiar with Linux, Windows, and Mac OS 10 operating systems and be comfortable with using both GUI and command line interfaces for each.
• Knowledge of tape-based archival systems such as Data Protector and Atempo TiNa required. Experience with robotic tape libraries desired.
• Must have the ability to create simple shell scripts for repetitive tasks and have an aptitude for problem solving.
• Strong background in and aptitude with various Operating/Computer Systems.
• Working knowledge of archival data tape formats (LTO, DTF, DLT, etc.).
• 2 years of experience in a post-production/studio environment in a technical capacity.
• Familiarity with all common file and tape based video formats.
• Ability to multi-task and keep track of ongoing projects
• Ability to cooperate, contribute, and integrate in a team environment
• BA/BS in Communications, Film/TV, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Strong GNU/Linux/UNIX background preferred
• Experience with Clipster, Nuke, Final Cut Pro 7, Encoding/Transcoding applications a plus.
