We are currently recruiting freelance Audio Mixers. Assignments may be completed from our Burbank, CA facility or at personal remote setups (upon review and approval).
Primary Responsibilities
• Individual will be responsible for mixing all channel configurations and format within Avid's ProTools 10.X and above.
• Individual will be responsible for delivering finalized audio in numerous audio formats (i.e. ProTools session) and configurations (i.e. 2.0, 5.1, 7.1).
• Individual will be responsible for managing his/her schedule to meet the deadlines set by supervisor and/or scheduler.
• Individual will be responsible for maintaining regular communication with supervisor and/or scheduler in regards to assigned project status and personal availability.
• Individual will be responsible for organizing his/her sessions and files according to provided specs.
Qualifications
• Must have excellent working knowledge of sound recording, playback, editing, and mixing equipment, including audio consoles and controllers, outboard audio equipment such as dynamics processors, EQs, and digital effects processors.
• Must have expertise in working with audio to picture.
• Must have a very strong technical understanding of digital audio, sample rates, bit rates, audio speed, digital audio sync, SMPTE time code, video sync, and video codecs.
• Must have excellent hearing and the ability to make continuous and efficient judgment decisions.
• Ability to mix all versions, formats, and standards of the production in accordance with the delivery guidelines, technical specifications, and schedule.
• Must have broad knowledge and understanding of most terminology and acronyms used in film, television, and sound.
• Must have excellent organizational skills in relation to managing large amounts of data and media on local computers as well as content over networks.
• Must possess excellent operational skills of Digidesign, ProTools, and Apple OS X Operation System.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work closely with Director, Editor, Music Department, Sound Supervisor, as well as all other project coordinators and supervisors within project or company.
• Must have excellent time management skills and have the ability to meet aggressive deadlines over long hours without showing fatigue or compromising end product.
• Must be process driven and maintain excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to constructively accept and process scrutiny from others.
• Ability to make excellent objective and subjective decisions to combine, balance and adjust a film or television program's audio elements, including original production sound, re-recorded dialogue, effects, and music into a sound track using work of the various sound Editors and the Sound Designer.
