We currently have an opening for a Sr Software Engineer within our EFilm Division. This position will be located in Hollywood, CA.
EFILM operates the most advanced digital laboratory in the world. We serve the motion picture and television industry and our clients are the major film studios, independent filmmakers, advertisers, animators, visual effects companies, and large format filmmakers. We have pioneered numerous breakthroughs in digital imaging for motion pictures and continue to develop new tools for filmmakers. EFILM strives to deliver an exceptional user experience to high-value clients.
We are looking for an experienced software engineer who can develop for all tiers of the web application platform. The senior software engineer will be expected to gather user requirements, design, develop, test, and support internal Web applications used by Deluxe's clients and operational staff.
Requirements
Requirements:
• Hands-on experience in developing web applications, including extensive knowledge of
Python, PHP and Apache.
• Experience in data modeling and database schema design using MySQL, including
selection of appropriate data types and development of efficient SQL queries. Experience developing data models and schemas from scratch and enhancing/refactoring existing schemas.
• Well versed in networking fundamentals.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux OS distributions.
• Experience with GIT source code management (SCM)
• Experience developing distributed Web applications and services using HTML, CSS,
JSON-RPC and REST.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to establish
interpersonal relationships.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge in maintaining a cohesive development, staging and deployment
environments.
• Knowledge of LTFS/LTO and generic SCSI programming.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge and experience in web application security.
• Knowledge and experience in pipeline technologies and/or business process modeling.
• Experience migrating legacy applications.
• Experience evaluating Web application performance (load testing).
• Advanced knowledge of MySQL server configuration (cache tuning, indexing, query
optimization, replication and fail-over).
• Knowledge of film/entertainment industry concepts and workflows (camera types,
camera formats, time-code, post-production workflows).
