WHAT IS THE OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB?
This position supervises the DTDC Burbank Project Management team. He/she leads onsite Project Managers in completion of their daily tasks, helping to strategize production payload and prioritize work.
The role interacts closely with department leads and Studio Support teams to assess output and ensure deadlines are met. Volume is determined and reconciled against available resources. Tasks are then delegated to on-shift staff members, working side-by-side
the team to ensure quality of services and project follow-through. An advanced understanding of Digital Cinema Mastering is required to engage senior ops and troubleshoot production obstacles autonomously.
The position is also responsible for tracking and reporting project-related workflow deficiencies, escalating to the Manager of Operations, and establishing rules of engagement between PMs and Operators. Continued support of internal products such as the Kraken
work order database and various KDM systems is required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Acting as Team Lead for DTDC Burbank Project Management
• Helping the Account Teams to keep project(s) on a specific timeline for completion
• Working with Post facilities and vendors to facilitate delivery of source materials
• Working with the vault to receive and confirm delivery of source materials
• Scheduling of mastering processes from encoding through QC
• Creation of Work Orders in DTDC's proprietary Work Flow system
• Scheduling of both internal QC and Client QC screenings
• Organization and tracking of International Versioning of projects (Subbed and Dubbed, 2D and 3D) through the encoding, wrapping, and QC stages
• Communicating with clients for the Account Team when required
• Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
• Ensure company policies are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at-all-times
• Update wiki documentation with procedural changes
• Help complete and/or supervisor the completion of any nonstandard workflows
• Help complete and/or supervisor the completion of difficult and/or time sensitive projects
THE PERSON:
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in High Pressure situations (Deadlines/High Profile client interaction…)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate leadership ability
• Excellent knowledge of Digital Cinema workflows and standards
Level of Education:
Essential - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College/University or equivalent professional experience
Work Experience:
Essential - 3 years experience managing a post-production and/or project management team, responsible for the creation of major Hollywood studio content. Deep understanding of post-production workflows and video compression.
Desirable - 5 years experience managing a post-production and/or project management team, responsible for the creation of major Hollywood studio content. Deep understanding of post-production workflows and video compression.
Knowledge & Skills:
Essential -
• Proven track record in management and delivery of film distribution services
• Deep Understanding of: Digital Cinema technology, Post Production equipment, Theatrical system operations
• Experience with interacting in client/vendor capacity when interacting as a purchasing agent for DTDC
• Experience with organisation and planning across many areas and able to manage in a constantly changing environment
• Previous management experience or qualification
• Good organisation and leadership skills
Desirable -
• Digital Cinema Mastering.
• Post Production Mastering/Transcoding systems
• Subtitling systems and stereography
