We currently have an opening for a Director, Communications. This position will be located in Burbank, CA and report to the VP, Global Marketing & Communications.
SUMMARY:
The Director, Communications is responsible for executing an internal and external communications plan for Deluxe Entertainment. As a 100 year-old organization that has transitioned from a film lab to a digital services company for film, broadcast and advertising clients, there are a wealth of stories to tell across all business units around the world.
The Communications plan will be designed to support the business strategy and will be measured accordingly. At its core, the person in this role will understand each business line, coordinate with leaders across the company to extract relevant news and craft stories that engage journalists, employees and target customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work across all business lines to unearth announcements and mold stories that support business goals
• Consistently feed information into our PR firm, guide their strategy, monitor their progress and drive them to create awareness for Deluxe
• Monitor business trends and identify opportunities for Deluxe to capitalize on
• Field journalist inquiries, gather information across the business and coordinate responses with our PR firm
• Manage release approval process with internal and external stakeholders
• Position executives as thought leaders in their respective areas of expertise, through speaking engagements, editorial and op-eds
• Enforce consistent messaging across Deluxe and its different business units through press releases, presentations, collateral, website, and all communication mechanisms
• Oversee quarterly Town Hall process with local business units
• Create talking points in preparation for conferences and significant corporate announcements
• Craft internal and external messaging plans and timelines based on industry events, Deluxe accomplishments and strategic opportunities
• Identify and act on opportunities to engage staff through internal communications
REQUIREMENTS:
• 6-8 years in PR or Communications across media and entertainment
• Experience managing an external PR firm
• Relationships with key entertainment business reporters
• Independent worker who excels at communicating across all levels of an organization
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and deadlines
• Strong collaboration and teamwork
