Data IO Technician
We currently have an opening for a Jr Data I/O Technician. This position will be located in Santa Monica, CA.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Finishing & VFX Teams: Help support, IN/OUT traffic of all data, Archive management, Storage Allocation and debayering activity of all digital projects.
New Technology Support: Help support new processes and software applications by maintaining a proficient understanding with evolving trends company workflow development.
Quality Control: Maintain outstanding levels of oversight of deliverables manufactured within the feature finishing process.
Teamwork: Collaborate and communicate with fellow colleagues to obtain job instructions and solutions in order to meet project deadlines.
Security: Uphold security practices and protocols in accordance with Company and Customer policy
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Production Support: Proficient with operating Black Magic Resolve v11, Transkoder/OSD, Autodesk Backdraft and MetaTrack software. Understanding of the application of EDL and ALE files, and digital camera formats (i.e. Red, Alexa, Cannon, Phantom, etc…)
Data Support: Proficient with Unix/Linux shell commands, knowledge of LTO tape archiving protocols; such as Tar, Bru and LTFS. Understanding of multiple server networks, Aspera/Faspex console and skills with various flavor of file movement protocols.
Team Support: Consult and trouble shoot tasks for production teams related to MetaTrack development, connectivity for moving files internally/externally and managing storage allocation/capacity.
Quality Assurance: Detailed oriented with applications, equipment settings and creating new media. Thoroughly check all work for errors before content is distributed downstream.
Content Security: Uphold stringent 'No Tolerance' security protocols in accordance with company and customer policies.
REQUIREMENTS/BACKGROUND:
2 years employment with media/post industry
1-2 years hand on operator experience
Work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment
Flexible with shift hours
BUSINESS SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE:
Unix/Linux shell commands, Black Magic Resolve v11, Autodesk Backdraft, Transkoder/OSD, EDLS and Spectralogic Tape Robot.
Xytech or ScheduALL
Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel and Word
MAC Thunderbolt /Windows/ Linux
Task Management Software (i.e. Atlas Jira, or equivalent).
