We have an opening for a temporary Benefits Specialist. This position will be located in Burbank, CA.
SUMMARY:
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration of Deluxe's Leave of Absence program and coordinating immigration for the US population. This position maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality and ensures functions are completed accurately
and in a timely manner. The Benefits Specialist will report to the Sr. Manager of Benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, HIPAA, ADA, CFRA, PFL, etc.).
• Work with our third party Aetna Disability Management to track and manage all FMLA cases/claims.
• Main point of contact for employees requesting a leave, the HR team, Payroll, Legal and Managers and must ensure all parties are informed.
• Coordinates premium billing while employee is out on leave with our third party PayFlex Direct Billing.
• Participates in developing, implementing, monitoring policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for determining and assessing leaves of absence.
• Main point of contact for US-inbound immigration needs for the company and provide immigration guidance.
• Partner with HR, Recruiting, managers, legal, and outside counsel to maintain compliance with immigration law.
• Proactively communicate with employees and other relevant contacts regarding the status of their visa cases and extensions.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain high standards for all work performed.
REQUIREMENTS:
• BA/BS in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related major required.
• 3+ years' experience working with leave of absence administration or immigration is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of State and Federal laws including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, CFRA, PFL and other applicable regulations.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of all types of US work visa categories and in depth understanding of employment based green card process
• Must be able to manage priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills – must be proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet savvy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
