Delikate Rayne is looking for a web design/developer intern. We need strongly driven, friendly and outgoing individuals to get on board with us! This is a great opportunity to get a hands on, learning experience in the exciting, constantly evolving world of fashion with a new, exciting sustainable, cruelty-free, women's contemporary label. A wonderful chance for the right candidate to build something from scratch, a chance to show off multiple skills and creativity.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including WordPress theme customization to re-launch a current project onto a new platform (Wordpress) from scratch to finish. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and a working knowledge and understanding of liquid-Shopify's coding language) plus aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, color schemes, font choices, etc). Experience with responsive and adaptive web design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Designing and implementing of new features and functionality of the new site based on guidelines given
-Establishing and guiding the website's architecture, customization to template
-Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
-Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin for desktop and mobile
-Organizing the WordPress backend, making it user friendly/painless for use by the DR staff
-Have your own laptop with current software programs installed
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
-Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
-Experience building and/or managing an e-commerce website
-Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
-Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
-Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
-Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
-Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
BONUS POINTS:
-Proficiency in Mailchimp, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Excel and Microsoft
-Working knowledge and experience with fashion blogs, news media platform sites running on Wordpress themes
-Graphic design experience
-Has experience in photo retouching to edit images for our website and E-commerce store
Location: Los Angeles, must drive or have reliable transportation to and from the studio and be located in the LA/OC area
Duration: P/T 2-3 times a week
Compensation: Unpaid but the experience is priceless! School credit is not required for participation, but is granted if needed. A letter of recommendation will also be provided if desired. Drinks and snacks will be offered in studio daily
