About David Korins Design (DKD):
Founded in 2004 by award-winning production designer David Korins, DKD is a multidisciplinary design firm and production house. Located in the heart of Manhattan with a hand in unique collaborations all over the world, DKD specializes in a variety of fields including Theater & Opera, Film & Television, Concerts & Festivals, Hospitality, Residential & Commercial Spaces, and Immersive Experiences.
Who we're looking for:
You are hyper-organized, extremely detail oriented and have learned the art of maintaining a calm and composed presence through fast-paced work days. The Assistant's main responsibility will be to provide day to day support to David Korins. You will be responsible for managing calendars, scheduling meetings, arranging travel, processing expenses, responding to email, and general administrative and personal assistance. You should have at least 1-2 years of experience as a creative assistant/coordinator.
Here's what you'll do:
-Provide administrative and personal assistance to David
-Provide high-level and professional communication with our business contacts - (efficient email correspondence, providing warm and courteous contact, arranging and sending gifts, etc.)
-Manage David's personal and professional calendar strategically and logistically (i.e. both ''big concept'', long - term scheduling as well as day to day meeting arrangements)
-Manage David's correspondence and day to day tasks and priorities
-Facilitate David's internal project workflow with other members of the studio
-Process expense reports
-Manage house seat requests
-Attend project planning meetings and be responsible for taking notes and - communicating directives and information to the project team
-Assist in intake process for new projects
-Maintain a working knowledge of our clients and collaborators
Your strengths include:
-Computer skills - we're talking Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Apps for business
-Excellent organizational skills; you are hard-working and able to take direction and prioritize while juggling multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
-The ability to ''manage up'' to an extremely busy artist and small business owner, as well as to manage yourself and your own to do list
-Being resourceful and detail-oriented. You get stuff done!
-Communication - must have strong skills, both verbal and written
-You thrive in and contribute to a positive, collaborative and fun work environment!
Your experience:
-At least 1-2 years of coordinator/assistant experience
-Previous experience working in a similar position in theater and/or the arts is a big plus
-College degree preferred.
