Intern - Music Marketing

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

DYG Management Group is a FULL service entertainment, music management and consulting organization, which is also home to Grammy nominated songstress Syleena Johnson. The newly developed media department is looking to grow and expand in and around New York City. There are several different aspects of our department, including a talk show, radio station, modeling agency, online magazine, amongst others. We are looking for interns who are passionate about working in the music and entertainment industry. Being that the main office of DYG Management is located in Chicago, interns will do most of their work from home. However, they will be asked to come participate in events including but not limited to video shoots, photo shoots, industry functions, etc.

We Need TWO People For Each of the Following Departments:

1) Winter's Real Talk Show: Intern must be able to book guests for Winter's show. The bigger the celebrity, the better! Must be actively involved in coming up with segment, skit, and show ideas. Must help come up with comedy skits. Must be in close contact with Winter and El (the producer of the show). This intern must find great news stories, preferably entertainment related, throughout each week to contribute to the show, along with assisting with scheduling.

2) Radio Station: Intern must help coordinate the shows, help come up with segments and draw up outlines/ structure of the shows. Must help assist in selling advertising to sponsors along with incorporating the sponsors in segments. The goal of the radio station is to go from our current three nights a week to five nights a week and to grow the brand of the station and shows.

The WRCR 1300 AM is a BDS certified terrestrial radio station located in Rockland County, New York. It is 30 minutes away from Manhattan, 15 minutes away from New Jersey, and 15 minutes from Westchester County. WRCR broadcasts to parts of particular counties in Upstate New York, Rockland County, Westchester County, as well as Northern counties in New Jersey. Our programming is geared more towards an urban audience, yet we are currently looking to expand and develop our night show slots.

3) Modeling Agency: Intern must help develop our model Crystal Nixon and to bring other models into the agency. They must help book the models for various things (events, videos, photo shoots, runway, etc.) They also must be able to set up and help coordinate promotional photo shoots and assist in branding each model.

4) Magazine: Urban Homme is an online magazine that centers on music, fashion, media, and culture as a whole. We are in the process of expanding our staff as well as revamping the look and feel of the site.
Intern must actively write and post on the blog, along with assisting in our current revamping phase of the site's layout. Must help with web design and help run the overall website with the Senior Editor. Must help promote the website to gain recognition. Also must aid in acquisition of the staff writers, potential clients, and sponsors, along with handling elements of day-to-day management of the site.

5) Agency: Intern must assist in acquiring new media staff to outsource work to. They must create and keep an organized list of portfolios of on-call media staff, preferably on Excel. This includes photographers, video editors, video directors, graphic designers, recording studios, videographers, etc. Must have examples of the staff's work, price range, and quality of their work. This intern must be someone who is extremely social and into meeting new people/forming new relationships.

6) HR Intern: This intern would have to be very social and usually out and about. Must be into meeting new people and forming new relationships. Must learn the mission statement and ideology of the department, along with understanding each section and how they function. Must be able to recruit and screen new interns that are preferably in the NYC/NJ area and to help schedule meetings and appointments. Must also help new interns become acclimated to the department and to be able to find contact info for celebrities and notable figures.

7) Publicist: The Publicist intern must help generate publicity for the acts and personalities we work with, along with our online magazine, the radio station, and it's shows. Must be able to write up press releases and be in charge of writing and organizing documentation confidential to the company as a whole. Must be able to write blurbs and/or short messages for the general public on our behalf. This intern MUST be someone who loves writing and is skilled at doing so.
