SUMMARY:
The Film Production Accounting Coordinator assists the SVP of Production Finance, the Production Accounting Analyst and the Production department with inputting and reviewing Film production budgets, cost reports and cash flows and other reports provided by the Production Accountants as well as assist in responding to other ad-hock reporting requests as required. The Film Production Accounting Coordinator assists in providing day-to-day accounting and financial analysis support for the Company's Production, Accounting and Legal Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Work with the SVP Production Finance and the Production Accounting Analyst to input and track budgets in Excel, review budgets and assist with other financial aspects of TV Movies and Series Productions using analytical, accounting and other production experience.
2. Assist in inputting, tracking and analyzing production budgets, and cost reports across productions.
3. Assist in tracking spend across various own produced TV Movies/ Series.
4. Assist in working with Production Accountants in the field to review budgets, cost reports, trial balances and cash forecast and reports.
5. Assist in various reconciliation processes regarding the production costs and cash sent to Productions.
6. Assist in developing standard budgets, cash flows and standardize other processes.
7. Assist in tracking film tax credit information.
8. Maintain organized accounting record keeping.
9. Assist in preparing ad hoc reports and analyses when needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2 years' work experience in a corporate environment
• Accounting background including knowledge of trial balance, financials, general ledger entries and bank reconciliations required
• Microsoft Office Suite experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business/Econ.
• Minimum 2 years' production accounting, film/TV finance experience (TV or Film and/or accounting in the film industry) or accounting experience desired.
• Attention to detail, desire for accuracy, and a sense of urgency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and intermediate skills in all other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Strong willingness to learn and be a great team player.
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to find solutions and setting up check points for verification of accuracy of work performed.
• Knowledge of applicable guild rules in connection with both domestic and international residuals with respect to made for Basic Cable television movies. SAG-AFTRA, WGA, WGC, DGA, DGC, UPCP/ACTRA desired.
• Proficiency with production accounting software and Movie Magic Budgeting desired.
