Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst
Purpose
Corbis’ Accounting and Finance team is responsible for managing the company’s financial reporting as well as providing planning and analysis and modeling financials related to meeting key strategic goals. In this role, you will provide accounting, compliance, analysis, reporting and reconciliations for all assigned accounts while consistently demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles and the activities that should flow into and out of each of their accounts. Additionally, you will assist the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team in assessing company performance against plan, managing the annual planning process and working closely with VPs and senior management from the budget / actual perspective. The person in this role must be able to work cross-departmentally to gather information and must be able to solve complex problems and recommend significant process improvements. Responsibilities:
• Drive a strong close process with all accounts reconciled and ensure appropriate internal controls are in place to safeguard Corbis assets
• Monthly general ledger reconciliations, close journal entries and analyses, including accruals
• Provide guidance on revenue recognition and offer technical accounting leadership, research and advice on significant and complex accounting matters
• Work with management and external auditors to define and document Corbis’ position on new accounting pronouncements and complex accounting matters
• Assist with tax filings and statutory audits
• Support annual planning and budget process working with business owners responsible for revenue and gross margin
• Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports including variance between actual and budget, forecast, and historical performance
• Support preparation of Executive level and Shareholder presentations
• Prepare monthly revenue forecast and provide timely adhoc analytics and reports on an as needed basis
• Build and maintain financial models and provides analytical support for business initiatives
• Strive for continual improvement in reporting, analysis, and process to better provide executives and business leaders with meaningful and accurate information in a timely manner
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required: MBA, CPA or CMA is preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP; must have organizational and time management skills and the ability to balance a large group of diverse projects simultaneously with excellent attention to detail
• 4 years relevant work experience including US GAAP accounting and building and evaluating financial models
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; strong accounting and financial skills including variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling
• Experience working with data warehouses and/or enterprise systems, as well as various accounting, reporting and budgeting systems. Experience with SAP and/or Microsoft Dynamics financial systems a plus
• Self-starter with an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Superior project management skills with strong leadership, problem solving, and decision making skills
• Exemplary customer service ethic and outstanding attention to detail
