Purpose
The Payroll Administrator is a member of the finance department and is responsible for paying employees appropriately and ensuring that the company complies with related payroll tax laws. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for performing all activities necessary for the timely and accurate processing and reporting of US and international payrolls (semi-monthly and monthly) and enforcing global pay policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
The Payroll Administrator is accountable for processing and reporting global payroll. Duties include time and attendance administration, managing the interface between HRIS output and payroll, and ensuring the correct transmission and processing of employee changes, benefit deductions, and additional payments such as commissions and bonuses. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for timely and accurate reporting and payment to benefit providers and tax authorities. The position is also responsible for producing payroll related general ledger entries, maintaining detailed records of all activities and transactions, and responding to requests from auditors. The Payroll Administrator will follow the existing payroll process and procedures established for the global payroll department and where applicable, identify opportunities to enhance processes and procedures, drive creation and development of solutions, and make recommendations to the Payroll Manager. The Payroll Administrator is also responsible for implementing new payroll-related procedures or processes as business needs change.
This position has contact with all functional areas of the company and works closely with HR, Technology, and Finance to ensure proper policies and procedures are followed. Externally, this position interfaces with the payroll service providers in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Qualifications
• 3-5 years of related experience
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
• Knowledge of various Microsoft software applications, with an emphasis on Excel
• Experience with ADP or other payroll service provider applications. SAP (HCM and GL) experience preferred
• Must have multi-state experience (US) and some experience with international payroll (Europe and Asia)
• Must be very organized and have the ability to work under continual deadline constraints. This person must possess strong critical thinking and communication skills and be able to interact with all levels of management
• Independent thinker capable of assessing critical situations, identifying opportunities for improvement and greater efficiency, recommending solutions, and executing on decisions
• Must demonstrate commitment to excellence in customer response and service
