Overview:
Currently BEN has an immediate opening for a Media Research Analyst position. This role will be responsible for conducting general, quantitative, and qualitative research across differing media related data sets. This position will also be responsible for analysis, documentation, and creation of elegant reports that will be reviewed and distributed throughout the company, and potential partners. Previous experience in entertainment/media research and analysis is highly preferred but we are willing to bend the rules for truly exceptional candidates.
In addition to research and analysis, this position will also be responsible for learning all partner data dashboards and tool functionality (such as Nielsen, Rentrak, MRI, etc). Once properly trained, this position will be the go to body for questions regarding functionality and interaction of the partner tools for our internal and client facing teams.
Responsibilities:
• Work with data partners to learn the intricacies and functionality of their respective tools
• Conduct internal team training sessions on our data partners tools as needed
• Be an evangelist for our data offerings and competent on our capabilities (and set expectations accordingly)
• Monitor adoption and usage of partner and internal tools through testing, feedback, and analysis (and identify any pain points within each)
• Perform research and analysis across all BEN available data sets
• Perform abstract research and analysis by other methods such as research studies and general searches
• Compile research reports for the differing division of the BEN company as needed
• Create and lead data research presentations as needed
• Work collaboratively with local and global team members to help sync needs and expectations
• Documentation of research approaches and best practices for report generation
• Help shape the data roadmap through thoughtful research and identification of lacking areas of focus
• Identification of abstract data trends across our available data (help us see trends we may not notice)
• Solicit ongoing feedback from business units, internal, and external users
• Maintain documented research findings within the Confluence repository
• Create and present information to company leadership in a clear, concise, and presentation level fashion
• Compile data and product related meeting notes for team distribution post meeting
Requirements:
• 3 Years proven experience performing research and analysis in the media industry
• Experience compiling research into business presentable documents
• Independent and requires low supervision (we are all busy)
• Strong Office Suite skills
• Strong analysis capabilities, focusing on direct qualitative / quantitative research and more abstract trend analysis (identification of unknown/hidden trends)
• Understanding of the current entertainment industry (Broadcast, Premium, OTT) and pain points of each
• Great multitasking as you may need to preform multiple concurrent research projects for differing teams
• Team Player – we are a very collaborative team and you must be as well
• Interpersonal skills – You must have a positive outlook and the capability to convey your findings in a articulate and persuasive, concise and trustworthy fashion
• Data visualization experience
• Driven – when you encounter a roadblock you know how to bust through it and get the job done
• Social Media research and analysis experience
• Presentation Skills (verbal and written) you need to be able to create presentation quality materials as well as lead the presentation
Nice to Have:
• Strong SQL skills (focus on Postgres)
• Previous working experience with media & behavioral measurement services such as:
• Nielsen: NPOWER, NNTV, Scarborough
• Rentrak: International Box Office Essentials, PostTrack
• Variety: Variety Insight
• Gracenote: On Air / StudioSystem
• MRI: Base Data or any Fusion Accounts
• Shareablee: Base social measurement
• Cision: Traditional media and print measurement
• Crimson Hexagon: Abstract social measurement
• Jira / Confluence experience
• Experience working with remote team members (we have a global presence)
• Ok with the occasional late work day (although not common, it does happen)
