Role Title: Business Development Manager

The Role:
The Business Development Manager (“BDM”) is responsible for driving revenue in all services that Corbis Entertainment sells (Brand integration, Talent, Rights, and Sports partnerships) but will have a specialization in Rights. BDM will focus on key customer segment including targeted corporations, broadcast departments at Ad Agencies, and other targeted customers as deemed appropriate by Corbis Management. BDM will prospect, sell, and close designated accounts/targets to maximize revenues and increase commercial business opportunities.
This is an external, client-facing sales role with a deep focus on increasing revenue. BDM identifies and evaluates clients’ needs for Corbis Entertainment services and then connects and collaborates with identified internal team experts to close the sale. BDM will have a specialization in rights and music licensing and will look to establish Corbis Entertainment at the preferred provider of Rights services. BDM calls on accounts; provides product and service information and or present demonstrations of how the services will meet the client’s needs. As such, this role is critical to Corbis’ success as an industry leader in the media and entertainment market.
In addition, the role will be to identity and drive new business whilst also playing a key part in delivering the Corbis One culture through the business.
Core Responsibilities:
• Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned revenue targets in designated territory.
• Responsible for prospecting, targeting, acquiring, expanding, and retaining accounts while ensuring client satisfaction in partnership with Sales SVP, Rights Sr. Manager and other identified internal service experts.
• Responsible for working with mid and senior level management within targeted departments of targeted companies and agencies, including broadcast production, product development, legal, marketing, and procurement.
• Develop business opportunities by working with the SVP of Sales, Rights Project Managers, Rights Sr. Managers, internal content and service experts and sales personnel on the Corbis Images team.
• Establish multiple level contacts within accounts. Present to, consult with and cultivate relationships.
• Identify opportunities for Rights & Music clearances agreements for “campaigns” and products.
• Present “whole house” services and capabilities to key customer targets.
• Identify business opportunities for brand integration, talent endorsement & seeding, and sports partnerships with key customer targets. Loop in internal experts as needed to close the sale.
• Identify and evaluate clients’ needs for Corbis Entertainment services in relation to the full range of Corbis services including images and footage.
• Other duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives for the position as determined by Corbis Management.
• Work with image licensing sales team to create and implement compelling Corbis creative solutions tailored to the needs of specific client.
• Attend sales meetings, network across industry events and conferences as required.
• Work closely with the sales team to drive new business
• Partner with marketing to provide feedback on, and aid in the development of, compelling collateral and to report on market and creative trends.
• Track and maintain target sales forecast and pipeline activity reports.
• CRM - Maintain accurate, thorough, updated and timely notes in Account Development Plans and client contact database by recording every client contact in the CRM system.

Requirements
• 6-8 years’ experience in sales (preferable in the Advertising Agency industry), including all phases of sales development (prospecting, proposal development, negotiation, closing and relationship/account management).
• Pitching to clients/suppliers/sponsors on a regular basis
• Knowledge and understanding of rights and music licensing, required.
• Knowledge of stock photography industry and branded entertainment a plus.
• Demonstrated success in a results-driven sales environment, with a track record of achieving and exceeding demanding sales targets.
• Foreign language skills preferred.
• Excellent presentation, listening and consulting skills a must.
• Experience in managing and developing customers is essential.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Self-motivated, goal-oriented with strong time management skills required.
• The ability to lead and inspire others to provide the highest levels of service and support to assigned clients.
• Heavy to moderate travel within designated territories for client visits, networking opportunities and Corbis company meetings.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Requires computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows applications, Internet savvy a must.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to challenge and influence chief executives and other senior personnel within organizations
• Very strong interpersonal skills allowing the instant building of chemistry and relationships
• Calmness and professionalism under pressure in a busy event and client environment
• Ability to garner respect from colleagues, clients and senior managementThis role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process and we would aim to reach agreement to the changes. The above role may include such other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
