POSITION DESCRIPTION:
1. JOB PURPOSE
Writes scripts and produces broadcast quality video content for internal and external clients in accordance with established branding guidelines for television and Internet distribution as well as large screen exhibition at public events.
2. JOB FUNCTIONS
VIDEO PRODUCTION
Meets with clients to assess production needs and works with them to determine the best approach to produce quality content for their purpose. Edits video and coordinates with clients, production professionals, talent and other personnel as necessary and in order to produce video projects. Assists with live video coverage of events in a variety of video production roles as necessary. E/55%
SCRIPT WRITING
Writes scripts for video and radio content to support the needs of internal and external clients. Collaborate with clients and other production professionals to meet the needs of individual projects. E/35%
ADMINISTRATIVE
Assists with the creation of production budgets and track production progress utilizing studio operational software E/10%
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and experience or additional education in production of radio or television programs.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in communication, creative writing, journalism, or equivalent experience producing video projects or radio and television programming.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Will work under general supervision and must meet established deadlines per project for scripting and editing video and audio content for Internet and terrestrial delivery. Will work independently to produce video projects through coordination with clients and will collaborate with other media production professionals as necessary to created finished audio and video projects.
Will script, produce and edit video content but will also be required to perform some studio and field recording and other post-production work. Some overnight travel may be required. May require handling moderately heavy pieces of broadcast production equipment.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 05 - position pays $31,805.00
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Experience in video production including writing scripts for video projects. Strong organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of video editing and basic videography. Ability to communicate information with cohesive long and short form audio and video productions. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications including Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop and other media production software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Mac OS X and Windows XP.
